Brother and Sister
- My 3 year old wants to be Snow White - that's great. But she is insisting that her baby brother be Dopey, because Dopey's cute.

Shooting Star
- Last year my daughter asked to be a shooting star. I am so not a seamtress, but found a free online pattern for it. I made a simple black fleece robe for her body. Then with fleece overlayed with metalic fabric I made a huge star with face cut out that slipped over her head. Gold ribbons hung from the star hood to emulate the "shooting" part of shooting star. She loved the costume and, to my surprise, people actually knew what she was supposed to be!

Fairy Fun Costumes
- Fairy costumes are my favorite thing in the world to make. Just get a simple pattern to follow, then embellish however you want. One year, I did a forest fairy with a sheer leafy skirt and glued fall leaves (on sale at Jo-Ann's) on the skirt and shoulders. I made a flower belt and headband. I am terrible at sewing, but the decorations covered up all my mistakes, and I even had several people ask me where I got the "Anne Geddes" costume. It made my year! I have also done winter fairies and flower fairies. For the winter one I just used a tutu and light blue leotard. I glued sparkles and snowflakes on, and decorated some generic wings I bought on clearance.

Go as a Book Character
- My niece dressed up as Hermione Granger last year, and it was so easy. She made a black cape out of felt, wore a sweater vest that she already had and borrowed one of her father's ties. Her wand was a stick she picked up in her backyard - she just went over it with sand paper once or twice. The outfit cost nothing, and she looked great!
