My Review 

Although many parents might wonder why they should read the book when it's super-long and the movies are readily available, I think it was the best read-aloud experience I had with my children. They were engrossed, and they could barely wait for story time before bedtime. The language is beautiful, the plot is compelling and the story is rich, deep and imaginative. The only problem was that they didn't want me to stop reading -- and I loved the books so much that I would go on reading to myself, once I'd put the kid to bed.

My kids are older now, but when I think back on their childhood, reading this series aloud is one of my happiest memories. They loved it so, and I loved the feeling of being close to them and sharing in the wonder.
