Find Your Valentine Match

Supplies:

  • Box of inexpensive kiddie Valentine cards
  • Scissors
  • Basket or box for game pieces

Preparation:

  1. Cut Valentine cards in two pieces, so that half the verse is on each piece.
  2. Make just enough for each child to have a piece with no leftover pieces. You need an equal number of players, so recruit the teacher if the number of students is not even.
  3. Mix up pieces and place in a basket for the kids to draw out one card.

Game Play:

  • Each child draws a half-card from the basket.
  • Player one reads the words from the half-verse on his card.
  • Children have to check their card and the person who has the matching half-verse comes forward to stand by his partner.
  • The partners read their verse one more time.
  • This game gets lots of giggles!

Grade Range:

Readers are needed for this game, so around grade 1 up to grade 5.
