Childhood Disintegrative Disorder is a pervasive developmental disorder that begins after the age of 2. The child develops normally, then his language, intellectual, and social functioning diminishes drastically. From that point, children's symptoms can span the autistic spectrum from severe to moderate. Mental retardation is a predominant feature of this specific disorder.
