Author List for Library Trips with Your Child

From , former About.com Guide

Summer reading is a tradition at our house. We usually go to the library once a week during the summer months, spending a leisurely hour or two browsing through books and magazines, choosing several to take home.

I've noticed that my children tend to check out the books that are on the display shelves, rather than searching through the stacks (hmm, so do I, come to think of it). If we know of an author that we like, then we will go to that section of the stacks to see what they have by that author. Many times I just can't think of more than one or two authors. So, this summer, I have compiled an author list to keep in my purse. When we go to the library, I can whip it out and find the great children's books that are hidden in the book stacks.
