Planning Your Child's Christmas Party

by Kimberly L. Keith
for About.com

If you are the Classroom Mom or Dad, a Sunday School teacher, Scout leader, or just want to have some fun with your child and her friends at home this Christmas season, I know you will enjoy these easy ideas for food, decorations, games, and projects to do with your school-age child for Christmas.

At school parties, play a game with the children at their desks while another parent passes out refreshments. You can easily prepare the game, HO HO HO with a couple of sheets of poster board and a Christmas basket. It's simple, competitive, and fast-moving. Don't forget the prizes for the winning team!

Usually I don't like to serve the children lots of sweet snacks at the school parties, but at Christmas I make an exception. If you are responsible for refreshments, let your child help you make make Christmas cookies. You'll find many cute and easy ideas on the Food and Games page.
