Valentine Party Games

If you need a game for your child's school Valentine party, you'll find lots of ideas at these links. My favorite Valentine game for Kindergarten through third grade is a simplified version of the Valentine Cakewalk. Prepare a large heart from construction paper before the party. Get the kids in a circle, and play silly Valentine music while they pass around the paper heart. The person holding the heart when the music stops wins a treat. Bring plenty of treats; they'll want to play over and over.

Another idea, is a bean bag toss into a Valentine-decorated cardboard box.

Older kids like competitive games. Parents like games that are easy to prepare and not too wild for the classroom. GameKids suggests a bubble gum blowing contest (max 5 kids per round at the front of the room). A big prize makes Guess the Number of Valentine Candies exciting. Before the party, count the number of Valentine candies you put in a glass jar. The student who guesses the closest number wins.

And my favorite snack to serve during the fun? Valentine’s Day Greeting Made with Rice Krispies
