Health Insurance for Children - Are Your Kids Covered?

Thursday June 17, 2004
Health care for families in the U.S. is a public crisis with devastating consequences for the uninsured. It is an obvious fact that children who are uninsured are less likely to receive medical care, so what can parents do to prevent this dangerous situaton? Many parents are not aware that their child may be eligible for health insurance from the State and Federally funded SCHIP program. Higher income eligibility levels for non-Medicaid public child health insurance make health insurance security for children a reality for working families. For example, in Arkansas, a family of four with income under $37,700 qualifies for child health insurance. To find eligibility guidelines and application information for your state visit Insure Kids Now! A national initiative to linking families to low-cost insurance programs
