Helping those in need, whether by donating food to shelters for families or by helping clean up a park, is one of the most important habits we can instill in our children.
By volunteering, kids learn how to look outside of themselves and appreciate all the things that they have in their lives and may take for granted, such as food, shelter, books and toys. And when kids help others, they gain a sense of accomplishment, self-worth, and a sense of pride in their work.
