This has been a particularly bad season for colds. We have some friends and family members who have been fighting one virus or another for weeks (and I'm drinking yet another cup of tea with honey to try to soothe my sore throat). We have downed so much spicy Korean soup and good ol' fashioned chicken soup that I'm surprised my family and I are not making sloshing sounds when we walk around.
As we all get ready to celebrate Christmas with our friends and family, be mindful of the important ways you can stay healthy and not catch a cold or the flu. Get plenty of rest, keep exercising, and be sure to eat plenty of healthy foods to boost your immune system.
If you are already fighting an infection, you should also keep eating immune system boosting foods to strengthen your body and help fight off your illness.
And if your great-aunt or uncle or another relative is fighting a cold during Christmas dinner or another family get-together, skip the kisses, definitely don't share utensils, and make sure you and your kids wash your hands as often as possible. Have a happy and healthy holiday!
