Almost overnight, my son went from loving his "Bob the Builder" fork and spoon set and fire truck lunch box to wanting everything as plain and nondescript as can be. Now everything, including the contents of his lunch box including his utensils, water bottle, and reusable containers are as plain and simple as can be, just the way most fourth-grade-going-on-high-school kids like him would prefer.

Aside from the right style lunch box, there's the daily dilemma of what to put inside the lunch box. For many parents, constantly having to come up with nutritious lunches that their child will eat can be a chore that's daunting, difficult, and challenging. If you find yourself scrambling for school lunch box ideas, try these examples of healthy and kid-enticing suggestions for kids' school lunch boxes.

Think small portions, variety, color, and fun. Consider making a school lunch bento-style. You may just find yourself having fun making your kids' school lunch (and they may want to help you, which will mean they'll be more likely to eat what you make).
