Thrifty Thursdays: Christmas in July???

I have yet to get my mind wrapped around the fact that it's nearly the end of July and back to school shopping will be in full swing soon in my household. So the fact that many retailers are promoting Christmas in July sales is kinda throwing me for an Inception-like disorienting loop.

Major retailers such as Garnet Hill, Target, Toys R Us, Sears, and Kmart are all publicizing specially-priced sales on items ranging from electronics to holiday decorations such as ornaments. Yep, ornaments. In July.

Are you planning to take advantage of Christmas in July sales? Or is it just too darn hot to even think about Christmas?

Even the thought of that makes me anxious! I know I’m a sucker, but I usually start shopping for Christmas around Thanksgiving. And I never buy decorations–just gifts, and maybe gift wrap if I need it.

I dont think you can use the words Thrify and Christmas in the same article – especially when it is the optional Christmas in July we are talking about. The Christmas in July think is, as you kind of mentioned, a good time to get stuff in the sale, but as it is being pushed more and more each year – more and more families are actually starting to celebrate it as they would at xmas. Christmas Hampers.
