The end of a year and the beginning of a new one is a time for reflection and resolution for many people. Parents may make personal resolutions such as starting a new fitness class or adopting daily habits to make your marriage stronger. But family routines and patterns can use a new overhaul, too.
This year, consider trying out a family resolution, whether it's going more green, helping a child become more charitable, or coming up with new ways to speed up morning routines.
A big bonus to family resolutions: When you do it together, you're more likely to keep each other on track. (I know I'm more likely to keep up with my healthy habits when my son reminds me of what I should -- and should not -- be doing!)

Happy New Year!

I think it is a great idea to make a family resolution together.
Oh boy, my 5-year old would love the opportunity to remind me of New Year’s resolutions. This is too good to pass up (no matter how annoying it will be down the road). Thanks!
I never thought of it this way- great idea!
It’s a really good idea to make family resolutions, but you need to have buy-in from all the parties involved. My husband has definite ideas about what I need to do in the New Year, just as I could write some good resolutions for him. But unless all parties agree about the importance of a goal, it’s unlikely to be met.
Yep. So true. If you want to really keep a goal, just state it boldly and clearly to your children — they NEVER forget.
I think family resolutions have the greatest chance of sticking because you’re all pulling together. Thanks for the tip. Now I have to think of something we can all do together — maybe go greener!
